Zbrojovka Wins at Slovácko for the First Time in 14 Years
The newly promoted side won the Moravian derby 2–1 in Uherské Hradiště and climbed to fifth place.
Zbrojovka Brno ended a long losing run in Uherské Hradiště on Sunday. Their 2–1 win over FC Slovácko was the club's first league victory there since July 2012. Daniel Vašulín scored from the penalty spot in the 40th minute. Substitute Tadeáš Vachoušek made it 2–0 with a quarter of an hour left.
Jocelin Behiratche pulled one back for the home side four minutes into stoppage time, but it came too late. Of the 6,035 people in the stands, Brno supporters were the loudest, and one local paper wrote that Zbrojovka looked “at home” on Slovácko's ground.
The game was also a homecoming for Brno coach Martin Svědík. He had his best years as a coach at this stadium and won the Czech Cup with Slovácko in 2022. Slovácko have taken points in only one of their first 11 league games and stay second from bottom.
